The Greek Orthodox Community has been growing since the gold rush of the 1850s and formally founded in 1897. 

After World War II over 160,000 Greeks settled around Melbourne.

In the 2016 census the second most spoken language at home other than English was … Greek!

2.4 % of the respondents in fact. That is a wopping 107,386 Greek speakers in Greater Melbourne alone!

Whilst statistically the Greek community today largely lives in areas around Coburg, Preston, Port Melbourne, Oakleigh and Doncaster, we have requests for Greek speaking COVID19 vaccinated Independent Carers in:
