Carer Spotlight: Meet Raheel

Driven by the positive changes he witnessed firsthand, Raheel decided to pursue formal training in the field to extend his ability to help others professionally. He has since obtained a Certificate III in Individual Support, specialising in ageing and disability, and is currently enhancing his qualifications with a Certificate IV in Mental Health and a course in Allied Health Assistance.

Raheel’s approach to caregiving is rooted in respect, empathy, and active listening, ensuring that he understands and responds to the unique preferences and needs of each client. He emphasises the importance of building strong, personalised connections with clients, which he believes is key to supporting their emotional and physical well-being.

In his interactions with clients, whether through a shared story or a simple thank you, Raheel finds joy in the everyday moments that bring smiles and comfort to those he cares for. He is particularly mindful of the challenges faced by individuals experiencing pain, frustration, or loneliness, and is committed to managing his emotional health to remain a supportive and effective caregiver.
